Evans.is’ Master, [ do certify that she ie seaworthy, and in

goal condition for navigation as a freight and pa-senger Seamer, running on the Straite of Northumberland, between Stediac, N. B., and Pictou, N.S. ; that she is provided with one fine boiler; that said bo:ler has been subjeet to a hydros- tatic pressure of thirty-two pounds to the square inch ; that th¢ axsimem working pressure allowed is twenty pounds, which is under two-thirds of the hydrostatic test. The boiler isprovided with a lock-up safety escape valve, steam and water guages, and suitable number of guage evcks. The Seamer is provided with 4 boats, 1] force pump, hose. 24 huckets, and 3U lile preservers, and that other things are in donjormity to the law.

This Certificate expires 10th day of September, 1861.

This jog was worm-eaten on the outside, but not in *0y Way to endanger the safety of the vessel, as it is outside she original bull, which ia suund and tight. The defective piece has been removed and replaced with new timber,although aot absolutely necessary. The holding down bolts are sound ud well fitted. All the zinc has been repaired, and the space #0 Tange of the paddle-wheels has been sheathed over the zinc "ith wood, to prevent the sawe from being worn off by the action of the wheels, und the whole ship is staunch, strong, aed waworthy. The report that the butts were sturted, is utterly false. I found her sound, and—as far as [ could see until the zine is stripped— well fastened and strong.
