The late Mr. MacKenrl:i wits of a.friendly disposition. always in good humor. and ever an interest- ll.Iz talker, he made friends easily and was exceptionally well known in Charlottetown where it host of friends will miss his cheery smile and pleasing personality.

Jimmy, as he was familiarly known to all his friends and many assoclatu was born in K('ll3"lG Cross on January fl. lR'7'7. and was the son of this late Hugh McKt-nnn and Eliza Kelly of that commu- lilty. In 1908 he married Sara Anne Haughey of Kl-lly's Cross (who survives him and look over the management of the old home- swad where he farmed stiocessflllly until 1923 when he sold the farm and went to live in Wlnsloe W'lIil'P he was engaged as herdsmiin on the farm of E. G.snllnders for four years. In 1927 he accepted a posi- tion with the department. of Agri- culture which he retained until his retirement seven years Ago.

During his last illness. Mr Mc- Kenna was frequently visited and greatly consoled by his old friend The Rt. Rev. Maurice MacDonald. chaplain of the City Hospital; and the last rites of his church were sdmlnlstered by Rev. Father Ayers.

Surviving bi-sides ht-l sorrowliic widow are two sons and four daughters: Elmer of ch-irlctln. town, with whom he rr-sided. Leonard of Toronto: (Dorothy! Mrs, Jack Gallant. Grand Br-nd, Ont. MRS. JOSHUA GALLANT

There passed away, on Dec. 3. in the City Hospital. after an ill- ness of several months. Mrs Jos- hua Gallant of Hope River. in her 80th year.

The late Mrs. Gallant was of I kind and loviible disposition. ad- ways ready to give a helping hand to those in need. she will be sad- 1;; missed in the home where she was a loving mother and grand- mother, and in the communit, where. during her younger days. she responded to many a call in the field of home nursing.

During her illness she was fre- quently visited by her pastor, Rev. E Dalton. and died fortified by the last rites of the Catholic Church of which she was in de- vout member.

Besides s snrrowing husband. she leaves to mourn three sons:- Joseph J. of West Newton, Mas-9: John B. of Worcester, Maas., and

Leo of Fredericton; one sister. Annie Gallant. of Lynn. Mass; also 12 grandchildren and two

great-grandchildren.

The largely attended funeral was held from her late residence to St. Ann's Church. Hope River, where Requiem Mass was cele- brated by the pastor. Rev. E. Dal- inn. Rev. Denis Gallant officiated at the grave.

Pallbearers were five nephews r-' the deceased: William Gallant. Arthur Gallant, Vincent Gallant,

Joseph Gilllanl, Harvey Gallant and Aubrey Gallant.
