The duck and goose season uent out under a lesden sky overhead and soggy ground un- dcrtoot. Some flocks landed on uncut fields where the golden grains lay in windrows and an appro- ximately ten or fifteen minutes was all the time required till themselves full to the throat. They didn't tarry once they had all the grain they could stuff down their gullets but took off for the salt water. The only stubble shooting worth the name was during the closing days of the season. Goose casualties were remarkably light compar- ed with normal seasons.
The hunting. with respect to black ducks. hit an all time low and about all hunters got while in quest of Huns or pheasants “as the exercise.
