It was that way with all Frogs. Every one knew that. Now here was Croaker the Green Frog awake be- fore it was time for even Peeper the Hills to wake up. and the

I didn't feel like going down in the mud and sleeping all winter. so I didn't. or course I took naps like everybody else. but that was all. I got all I needed to eat without too much trouble. When’the weather was bad I went down in the mud. When it was good I came up. I had a very com- iortable winter. We Green Frogs are like that when we find a place like this. We sometimes are awake all winter just as in summer.‘

“It is hard to believe." said Peter.

‘The truth often is hard to be- lieve," said the Green Frog cheer- fully.
