Piusville Boy Killed By Truck
Five year old Francis Marne Gallant, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Gallant, Piusville, was instantly killed on Sunday when he fell under the dual wheels of a two and a half ton gravel truck driven by his fifteen year old brother, John Allan Gallant.
The little boy fell out when the truck door opened as the vehicle was turning over a culvert lead- ing to the main highway.

home of Mrs. Alban T. Arsenault on Sunday afternoon, June 29th. The officers were all re-a-ppoint- ed and delegates to attend the convention on July 20 were elect- ed. This convention is to be held at Rustico.

A cement highway instead of an asphalt sufrace from Road’s Cor- ‘ner to the Town of Summerside was unanimously requested by the Summerside Towrl Council last evening in a resolution strongly supported by Mayor Currie and all councillors.
In asking the consideration of the P.E.I. Department of High- ways to the paving of this high- way with cement instead of as- phalt as planned, the resolution which will be fiorward- ed to Hon. George MacKlay, Mill- ister of Highways, pointed out that Summerside streets have been surfaced with cement and asphalt, and, in the experience of the town, it has been found that the maintenance of, cement streets is practically negligble as compared to the thousands of dollars which has to be spent each year in patching or recapp- ing the asphalt streets.
