Whining Teams At Enjoyable Function Last Evening.

The season's bowling activities at the Y. M. 0. A. were officially closed last evening at ; [upper berry attended by members of the various teams in the bowling 1°‘€“°-5 dllflhl the season. Mr. 0. Claude Smith, chairman of the tunes committee presided.

A feature of theprogramwas the presentation of the bowling troph- tea to the captain and members of the winning team in each league. In the absence of Dr. J. A. Clark. President of the Y. M. O. A., the presentation was made by Mr. G. Oieude Smith. chairman of the Kames committee, assisted by mr. Jack McLean.

The winning team in the Re- bekah Ieague was the Irnperials captained by Miss Jennie Cousins. The other members of the team were. Miss Catherine Mathieson, Miss Marion Thornton, Miss Annie MacLennan and Mrs. Fulton Adams. ,

In the Zion Church Guild Iaefieue the winning team was the Beetles with Captain, am. John Cameron in charge. Team mem- bers were, Mrs. H. Oatway. Mrs. Walter Brown. Miss Jean Fraser, and Mrs. C. W. Patterson.

team spoke briefly. They paid tri- butc to the sportsmanship of the different teams and expressed ap- preciation for the co-operation which they had at all times re- ceived from Mr. Luck. secretary of the "Y" and Mr. Jack McLean his assistant. The captains expressed the hope that they wculd be able to participate in the bowling com- petitions next year.

Police immediately linked the child's slaying with the unsolved murder of Annie Knights, 1:, of Fairfield. The Proulx family lived in Falrfleld. when the Knights girl was slain last October. Circumstances of both crimes were similar. even to disposition of the bodies. In each instance, twine bound the hands of the ravlshed children. , News of the sudden death of Mrs. Clarence Henderson of Dominica, B. W. I., was received in a cable yesterday by her brother, and will be learned of with sorrow by many friends in Saint John, the city of her birth. Mrs. Henderson before her mar. l'1a.'.'e was Miss Alice Lockhart, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. W. Albert Lockhart of this city. Since her marriage to Clarence Henderson, only son of Mrs. and the late James Henderson of De;-. byshire, England, she had made her home in Dominica, where her husband owns a plantation. Mrs. Henri:-rson had frequently visited her brothers and was last, in saint John a year ago.

She is survived by her husband and two daughters. Eileen (Mrs, Ronald Lylel. residing in Wala, and Miss Edith at home; three brothers, William A. Lockhut 3nd George A.
