Mx. Fraser and his blind pupils, in care of two teachers and & secretary, arrived from Pictou last evening. The quintette band played very sweetly as the steamer sailed up to the wharf. The ladies are at the Rankin House, where Mr. Davies has very kindly

placed rooms at their disposal; the male pupils are at the Osborne House, with Mr. Fraser. There is an Islander among the party Montague Warren, of Montague. They have gone to Souris to- day and will

return to- morrow morning for their Concert here. Give them afull house. The press ons ‘musical people of Halifax say their Con- cert is of a high order.

illustrative of life in the “glorious climate of California,” was nicely staged and fairly well acted throughout. Mr. J Edson was a capital ‘‘Sandy,” and Mr. Lear avery good Judge, although at times somewhat extrava- gant. The ‘‘Parson” was also a good represeii- tation. Miss Agnes Cody as ‘‘Nancy Wil- liams” and “‘ Billy Piper,” played pleasingly and with much acceptance, fully sustaining her reputation. **Huldah Brown,” the

*‘widder,” was also a good impersonation. ** Captain ‘Tommy xnd 6‘ Bunker Hill” made the most of their respective parts. The
