The hour or two of relaxation afl'orded by the Exhibition was not unprofitably spent, for in addition to the contemplation of the beauties of nature, the very circumstance of so many people of all ranks and classes, and of every age ration- ally enjo ing themselves, has, we are con- vinced, a neflcial cfl'ect on the mind, tem er, and heart. We trust, that the Society wil in. crease. not only in numbers but in usefulness, so that not many seasons will have to elapse, before these semi annual exhibitions will pre- sent an appearance of for greater variety and precocity, comprehending egery kind of flowers _ruits, or vegetables, that is or can beraised in these latitudes.

We have much pleasure in acknowled ing the recei t of the " Daily Telegraph and au- rier,” pu lished in London. On Wednesday the 18th inst the Presb - tery of P. E. Island in connection with t e Presbyterian Church of Nova Scotia met at Springfield. The Rev. Alexander M'Kenzie was appointed to preach at S ringflclri on first Sab- bath, and then to procoe to the Eastwurd and labor there until the end of August.
