They were drawn the herd by Lloyd Furoess - Wilfred is away in Calgary at present - and they engaged in a com, 'ion which proved to be interesting.

.In the Furness pasture were six cows. consisting of three mothers and three daughters.

The problem was to match them up so that the correct mother and daughter combina- tions would be seen. Out of somel forty participating. eight persons got them placed correctly.

The eight winners were Al- fred MacDonald, Glasgow Road; Margaret and George Mayne. Emerald; Edwin Reid. Rollo Bay; Ian Macllae. Union Road; James Williams and James Nicholson of the Experimental Farm. Charlottetown and Har-

The next stop was at wood Is- lands where the Ayrshire people had a look at the new dock which has been constructed to accommodate the ferry Lord Selkik.

They then went to visit Ches- ter and Ralph i.el.acheur at Guernsey Cove. Here the Ayr- shire people engaged in a com- petition guessing the production of a certain cow in the LeLach- eur herd.

The senior t-ottipetition winner was James Williams who is herdsman at the Experimental Farm. The junior winner was Elsie Wood who is a daughter of Almon Wood of Marshfield. TEA ls SERVED

The next stop was at the farm of Ray Brooks. Murray Harbour where tea was served and the Ayrshtrc people ate the lunches which they had packed and car- ried with them.

Here too. the prizes were pre- sented to the successful contest- ants. The presentations were made by Arthur Macltae. vice- president of the Prince Edward Island Breeders Association.
