Rev. Donald Sharpe was elect- ed president of the Sourls Home and School Association at the Annual meeting held in the Boy's school last night. Other officers elected for the coming year were Mrs. Andrew Mcintosh. treasur. er and Miss Helen Mclsaac. sec- retary. A committee was appointed to look after the trans- portation of children to the Music Festival. Grass Fire. Destroys barn And Granary

..fA disastrous blaze which had its origin in a grass fire yester- day afternoon completely destroy- ed a barn and granary belonging to Mr. James White of Bear River. All the stock were saved but two stacks of hay. near the barn were consumed by the flames. Neighbours who ralued to the scene were able. with difficulty. to save the dwelling. All the farm ..achine , was destroyed. Sourls firemen were called to the scene but their efforts were not re- quired. since the fire, threatening the dwelling had been brought under control. There was a small amount of insurance on the lost property.
