ALBERTON — The tlrst‘ hymn festival to be held in Al- bei‘ton was presented in Alber- ton United Church Friday evc- ning With all church choirs of the town taking part. They were directed by Mrs. Ruth Sommers.

Organists for the evening were Miss Annie Leai‘d. Mrs, E. E, Larter. Mrs. Lloyd Wil- kie and Mrs. Hubert Camp- hell

The sacred heart choir sang "Gloria In Excelsis Dec" and "Lord. Accept That Thanks We Offer". The New Testament lesson. read by Rev. Gerald Steele. was followed by the congregational hymn. “Christ Is Made The Sure Foundation."

St. Peter’s Choir sang "Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence" and The offertory. played by Miss Annie Leard. was “Ave \'erum."

The United Church Choir sang “Guide Me. 0 Thou Great Je

Heaven Dwelling." congregational hymn was "Sun Of My Soul".

The festival reached its cli- max when the four choirs in unison sang “Jerusalem”
