Mr. B. W. Robinson was called up to extend a vote of thanks to the Ladies Auxiliary for the great suc- cess of the King's Jubilee Cancer Fund Bridge. which had surpassed all expectations. ' ' 1 ‘In congratulating the ladies Mr. Robinson said thatthe legion had always endeavoured to assist every worthwhile movement for the good °f the sen-uni uillzlic. regardless of whether it was for the benefit of returned soldiers or not. In ex- tending the Leglonb regrets at the meparture of NLrs. Jackson, he felt that the Auxiliary was losing a, very valuable member as Mrs. Jackson had prpvezrher worth and ability in the way she had, as President, managed the affairs of the Auxil- W-Py inthe short space of time that . ft had been organized, and especial- ly ln the maruier in which she had advised and assisted the committee in charge of the Cancer Fund Bridge. _

Mrs. Jackson in replying to the vote of thanks said, that her asso- ciations with the Auxlliary had been a very happy one and that she would watch its development with interest. In speaking of the cele- brations on Monday in connection with the twenty-fifth Anniversary of Kins George v. and hs gracious mil-SOIL Queen Mary. Mrs. Jackson expressed the wish that the Ladies Auxiliary associate themselves in some way with the celebration, either in the parade or in some other fitting manner.

Dear Comrade Jacksonu-Your comrades of the Summerside Branch of the Canadian legion. B. E. S. L., are reluctant to bid you a conven- tional good-bye. The ties binding us in intimate association have' grown too strong to be readily broken. Youhave decided, how- ever, to return to your old home and we desire to‘ offer a friendly and deserved tribute.

Our association within the Leg- ion has been so uniformly pleasant 8nd your interest in our activities has contributed so much to its ad- vancement that your place on the Executive will be diiiicuit to fill. As Secretary you have come into pec- uliar contact with all the members who share our feeling of regret.

Not only will the Legion miss your timely counsel and constant support but the whole community will be the poorer because of the loss of a public-spirited citizen who. with his family, have been willing workers in many projects for town betterment. A readlnessto respond to every worthy call for your ser- vices has been a family character- istic.

With yourself. we want particul- arly to associate Mrs. Jackson in expressing our regard. We recall her help in connection with the annual Poppy Sale and with the successful formation of the Indies’ Auxiliary which has already proven its worth. It was certainly most fitting that she should be the first President and her capability as such will be remembered.
