He was fond of his home and enjoyed working in his gar- den. Mr. McLeod was a member of the carpenter's union and partici- pated in all iil activities. He join- ed the union June 3. 1907. and hld served as conductor since July 1917 lie had been a trustee since 1936 and chairman of the trustees since 1944.119 was a mombe of the sick committee for 30 years until forced to resign on account of iil health in 1941. l-le is survived by his son Donald r. A considerable drop in last month's imports to the Province coumared with those of February 1949. is indicated by the statement from the Charlottetown officg of the Q.N.R. superintendent of car- loads ferried between Cape Tor- IDGDti-Dg and Borden.

Exports show an increase with February oi last year, potatoes showing an increase of 2.10 carloads, In the following table. i946 totals will follow those of 1949.

Andrew's Hospital. Doctors said death was due to a cerebral hem- crrhage, the result oi injuries re- ceived when hit by a. truck Sai- urdsy morning. Witnesses stated that the elderly minister stepped from the sidewalk in the path oi the slowly backing truck and suf- fered a fractured hip.

Charlottetown City Council took further steps toward the introduc- tion of parking meters and skim milk in the City, at the regular monthly meeting last evening. Mayor Earle MacDonald presiding.

Councillor M. A. Farmer stated that the Police Committee had approved "ln principle” the instal- lation of parking meters in the City. Information was being sought from the City of Saint John," N.B.. which is using two of the most popular types of meters, as to i-he one most suitable for Charlotte- town. e

On s question from the Mayor as to the citizen reaction to park- ing meters, Councillor Farmer stated that he had heard com- ments pro and con. "It has been found that merchants. who orig- inally opposed meters, eventually approve after they have been in- stalled," added the Councillor.

Her invalid husband will miss her. Her daughter Lillian will miss her and also in the home Frank Morrison will miss her guiding hand. Mrs. Morrison was a loyal Presbyterian and helped church work in every way.

There are left to mourn her in- valid husband. one daughter. two brothers, John M. and G. Frank MacLurc. two sisters Josie McDon- ald and Georgie M. Hill.

There were scattered fields along the east coast of Cape Breton and the water there was ‘navigable also in the Strait of Canso, where there was scattered drift ice. There was 70 per cent ice in the Northumberland Strait from Charlottetown east. This was heavy northern Ice which drifted clown from Western Point and North Cape. THURSDAY

For the second time in lees than three weeks Prince Edward Island- ers yesterday were digging them- selves out of huge snowdrifts as a nofeaster ‘roaring in from the Atlantic struck with fury early yesterday morning. Accompanied by winds that. at times, reached a velocity of forty miles m hour the fast driven sitow fell until near noon and once again traffic oi all kinds was either halted or de- layed.

Everything was at a standstill 1" U10 City with many pedestrians being unable to get to their places of employment but by noon with the streets being cleared by snow plows traffic .was being resumed and in the late afternoon taxis were again making an appearance. ‘Trains were all running behind schedule with the hardest hit be- ing the train from Souris which did not make the City until last night. The early morning train WE! B-fl 110!!!’ and twenty minutes late leaving the city but mad; the run to Borden on scheduled time. Flows however were clearing the tracks and schedules were expected to be back to normal by today. While power lines in the City and suburbs got away lightly lt wfas o different story from Mt. Stewart to Sour-is, power being disrupted between tho two points. Extent of the damage could not be learned due to the impossibility of travel on the blocked highways but a Maritime Electric spokes- man said a truck was proceeding toward Mt. Stewart with plows clearing the road ahead of it. At the time of writing it could not be learned how far the plow hgd progressed through the heavily- packed drifts.

Telephone lines also received their share of the storm with wire trouble east of Mount Stewart and from wood Islands to the main- land putting services out of com. mission. These difficulties came ill-st when workmen were within an hour last night of repairing the damages caused by the recent sleet storm,

John Red- mond, William McInnis. James Mc- isaac. Louis Walsh and Austin Bolger. Her remains were laid to rest in the church cemetery.
