Mr. T. W. Benfley of Summer- side motored to Kensington on Tuesday and reports travelling by auto, although somewhat rough, a lot better than he expected. He is the first in over three weeks to make this trip by auto, and come through without encountering any obstacles whatever.

Mr. William Champion and Mr. Ivan Darrach were in Summersi" ‘Ibresduy evening attending the hockey game, nmking the trip by auto and reports this method of travelling to be very good, although somewhat rough.

‘About twenty-five hockey fans journeyed to Summerside on the special train Tuesday evening where they witnessed the hockey game between Charlottetown Ab- bies and Summerside Crystals. and were not disappointed as they saw a. fast, tricky rugged game which is usually the case when these two teams meet. After the game they attended the big dance sponsored by the Crystal Sisters hockey team and all report an excellent time.

Prince Bounty Ghildreifs Aid Society Meeting

The regular monthly meeting of the Board of ivlunagem w of the Children's Aid Society of Prince County was held ‘Tuesday night 1n the Town Hall. 1n the absence of the President, Rev. J, 2B. Wilson presided.

The Agent and ‘Iruant Officer, Mr. Louis Wedge reported a com- plete absence of Juvenile Delh- quency during the past; month due he thought to the fact thou two of the leaders of a gang of small boys had been sent to the Reformation-y at Halifax. He had some com- oomploints that boys were hanging around the rink at night and he was dealing with this matter. He had. no boys onpz-obation it preo- mt. He, however, reported to the society that a deplorable number of children remain home from school with their parents cement. The compulsory attendance clause of the School Act. requires that persons having wider their control a child between seven and thirteen years must send the child to the public school in the Town of Summerside 100 per cent of the days in ivhlch such public school is in operation.

The Agent was instructed- to noti- fy these parents that action would be taken under this compulsory clause unless the said children were sent to school. The Agent report- ed that for any of those that re- quired clothing it had been pmvld- ed and 00 pairs of rubbers I bad been supplied at Christmas by the Commun ty Chest to needy chil- dren. He arrived with an added at- traction of having Mrs. Santa. Claus along. This was. the first time the writer had the pleasure of seeing even at o distance this much-travelled lady and was much pleased with her very cheery face.
