TRAPPED. FINED-A mod charg- ed with trapping muskrats out of season appeared before Magistrate Donald MacKinnon yesterday, and was fined twenty dollars and costs or twenty days. Information was laid by the Royal Canadian Mount- ecl Police.

.FIR£ AT HOPEFIELD -- The saw mill at Hopefield, three miles from Murray River was burned to the ground Friday morning about 2 o'clock. The mill which was own- ed by Mr. Harry Bonnell was val- ued at three thousand dollars and was partly covered by insurance. Ml‘. Donnell left the mill about. 4 o'clock Thursday afternoon there being no sign of the impending dis- aster. The fire was first discovered by Mrs. Bonneli, but too late to save the mill. It was with the greatest difficulty that the resi- dence was prevented from catching.

WILL SPEAK ON LEAGUE 0F NATIONS—-The Chief Superintend- ent of Education, Mr. H. H. Shaw, has kindly consented to speak to tho pupils of Grade IX and X of the city schools on Geneva and the setting of the League of Na- tions. giving‘ also an outline of the ideals and activities of the League. Ho has already visited Prince Street School and plans to visit Rochford Square, West Kent and Queen Square Schools within the next two weeks. TENNIS CLUB MEETS-The Holy Redeemer Tennis Club held its regu- lar meeting Thursday evcning with the president, Mr. E. J. H. Morrlssey presiding. A statement was given concerning the recent Musical Re- vue put on, which was successful from every angle. Equipped with twin engines, of 180 h.p. each, either of which la capable of maintaining the loaded machine in level flight with eight‘ passengers. or equivalent weight of passengers and mail, this plane has a cruising speed of 100 to 110 mph. An outstanding feature of the cabin is the unusually good visibility afforded the pilot and passengers by the outboard ar- rangements of the motors on the lower wings. This arrangement also achieves quietness in the cabin. $0 that the passengers can readily maintain normal conversation.
