Twenty-one clubs, 10 dining rooms, two lounges. and 31 mili~ tary organizations in P.E.I. have been granted temporary licen- ses qualifying them to sell liquor for 60 days under en regulations which went into ef- fect June 1.

The P.E.I. Liquor Control Commission has refused to grant permits to at least five clubs, The Southport Country Club; the Horsemen’s Club in Kensington: the Rod and Gun Club and the Horse and Sulky (‘Iub (Granada Lounge). in Charlottetown.

Th uardian was unable to reach the Commission last even- ing to determine if licenses had been withheld from any other establishments.

The 63 businesses receiving licenses must apply for a one- year permit within 60 days.

Dining room licenses have

been issued to two hotels in Charlottetown. and eight tou- rist establishments. most of

which are in the main tourist areas of the province.

Other hotels and motels that now have liquor licenses are: The Links Inn, Cavendish; Tar- tan Restaurant. Summerside: r's - By - The - Sea. Stanhope Beach- Inn otel. Stanhope; Bay Vista Motor Inn. Cavendish; Shore Acres Motel. Meadow: bank; and Shaws Hotel. Brack- Iey Beach.

Two of the. hotel - motel es- tablishments. Tartan Restaur- ant and Bay Vista Motor Inn. have been issued lounge licen- ses. According to regulations, only the holder of a dining room license can qualify for a lounge license.

Eight clubs in the Charlotte- town area have been given lic- enses. They are Charlottetown Curling Club, Belvedere if and inter Club. Benevolent Iridi Society. the Columbus Club. of the Knights of Colum- bus. Charlottetown Fire Depart- ment. Charlottetown Club. La- banese Association of Prince. Edward Island. and Charlotte-

At a meeting yesterday of the Gold Cup and Saucer committee .it was announced that to date some 16 bands have indicated that they will be available to participate in the annual parade on the Friday of Old Home Week in ugust.
