With new spacious accommod- ating seats in a new seating ar- rangement. a new lightlns system. a new screen. new carpets. s new standee-rail at the back and new display cases the interior of the building has definitely taken on a. "new look."

Inside the door the first thing that strikes the eye is the oright lobby complete', finished in nat- ural birch panel and a sparkling new box office.

On the aisles are soft red and yellow carpets leading to the venetla red leatherette seats with their comfortable slope. A sidewall lighting system. replacing the fix- tures in the ceiling. illumina es the auditorium before the shows com- mence.

The standee rail at. the back. about four feet high, has 8. slanted cushioned top which will permit a person to watch the show in com- fort while standing. The back of the rail is cushioned and at the bottom is a toe kick.

The radiators have been closed in and the heat will emit from the top and bottom. giving an evenly distributed temperature. one new showcase has been added in the lobby and others are being prepar- ed for the exterior of the building.

The new seating arrangement provides for only two aisles, leading straight down from the entrances. There are no aisles along the sides of tin auditorium as previously had been the case. '

The ceiling has been painted grey by Mr. Abbie Weeks of Weeks and Langlile and the middle section walls a turquoise color. The bot- toms of the walls are royal blue.

The men were working away last night in order to complete the ren- novation before opening time. Both Mr. Ff Gordon Spencer, General Manager from saint John and Mr. George Walters were highly pleased with the manner in which the men worked and the quality of the .job they did.

The carpentry work was taken care of by Mr. Stewart Chandler of Chandler Brothers and the lighting by ohaippell and Company.

Poiaio Boarti Hopes To Open - Office Seen A

The Prince Edward Island Potato Marketing Board hopes to open up an office in Char- lottetown sroimd the first of October. it was reported last night following a meeting of the Board members Saturday.

The matter of licensing the pot- ato dealers will be carried out shortly after the office has been opened up it was stated. No chair- man of the board has yet been ap- pointed.

"Discussion on the problems of food production and distribution proved very stimulating. The A.C.- W. W. which has consultative stat- us wlth F. A. "A letter went forth from the delegation in support of the Can- adian Prime Minister's recent ac- 'tion regarding the recruiting of a task force to serve under United Nations.

"Among. other recommendations which -will be submitted by the Canadian delegation is the one that a letter be sent from. the A.- C.W.W. cmference in session to the Security Council of United Na- tions endorsing its action of the use of force to stop aggressor na- tions from 'preying upon weaker nations and that we favour a per- manent United Nations force to preserve peace.
