The condition of six-year-old Ron. aild McNeill, son of Mf.- and Mrs. Oscar McNeill of Coleman, who is a patient in the Prince County Hospital, is much improved and he is not as seriously injured as was thought at first. A wheel of a car passed over him on Friday when he attempted to board the vehicle while it was moving.-S

-CONCERT AT ALBEBTON - A variety concert in aid of the new library at Aiberton was pre- semted by a group of children Sat- urday afternoon. The stage. com- plete with curtains. was set in Cpl. Hagen's garage and the lead- ing spirit was his young daughter, Don-na. The garage was decorat- ed for the occasion and eight or ten children presented a fine lit- tle program. Proceeds amounting to 9.16 were passed over to the library committee.

Donald Macxay, minister of the Summer-side Presbyterian Church at the Sunday morning service, dedicated the new car- pet which had been placed in the church through the efforts of the Young Women's Guild. -OBSEIWESI SCHOOL METE- ODS - Miss Dorothy Ann Green of Pointe-a-Pierre, Trinidad, who attended Prince of Wales Normal School during the past term. spent last week in Alberton school for observation of class room mevtihods and practice teach- ing. In each room Miss Green gave the pupils an interesting and inrformative talk on Trinidad. The boys and girls in Mrs. England's room (grades three and four) made I portrfblio for Miss Green to take to pupils in Trinidad. The portfolio is beautifully made and contains the school crest, sam- ples of work done by the child- ren durlng the year, maps of Prince Edward Island, a sample of red soil, and many typical is- land pictures, including snap- shots of some Island snowbanks which will be a novel sight to children who have never seen snow. The pupils here look for- ward to receiving a portfolio from Trinidad next year.

Britten presided. Mr. Linwn's address was interesting and informative. as he reviewed the temperance situation allocross Canada.

In the final edition of the Schur- man Parade. held in Summerside on Friday evening. 25th.. the Bed- eque school came first in the one to three classroom schools, winning the shield and a prise of 060.00 for the best group singing. by grades '1 to 10. In readinsl. grade 4 and 5 Catherine Murphy come first. And in Lower Bedeque school Katherine Jeffrey came second. For vocalsoloe. grades 4 and 5 Anna leard, Lowe: Bedeque. came first. S'side Kinsmen A Camival Concludes

The annual spring carnival of the Eurnrneraide Kinsmen club held in the Curling Rink clos- ed Saturday evening and was the most successful to date of all such affairs which have been held by the club. Large crowds thtonged the rink every night.

Saturday evening Mr. H. K. Stright, chairman of the carnival committee. thanked those who were present for the fine rapport that had been given to the club and then declared the 1961 earn. lval officially closed.

The door prize for Saturday gv. enlng was won by Mrs. N. W. Un- derwood and she chose fifty dol- lars worth of golfing equipment. Mrs. Underwood then drew the lucky ticket for the Kinette doll Linda Lou" and her wardrobe and it was won by Mrs. Preston Wad- man. The winner of the Kinette cake was Mr. Fred Bingham.

It was moved that the local Chapter donate two prizes to Household Economics Class for

sewing. The Educational Secre- tary, Mrs. William E. Forbes, re- ported that the prizes of books for Grades X. XI and XII had been purchased. She was author- ized to order the new Year Books for the Encyclopedia Britannica. The Regent requested a letter to be sent to Mr. Clarence Mer- cer, school supervisor, asking him to congratulate the teachers on the splendid Empire Day program, when the three classes of Grade VI presented the pageant "Can- ada" in the High School Auditor- ium. The post war convener, Mrs. Leslie Simmons, reported that a box of used clothing will be ship- ped overseas within the next two weeks.

The secretary was asked to write a. letter of thanks to Mr. G. Mul- holland for the use of the Wing Room for the meeting. Following adjournment, Mrs. Richard Hin- ton. converier of the Film Com- mittee, and Mrs. William Small- mm showed two innteresting films, "Family Tree". 3. story of the settling of Canada, and "House of Windsor," which were much enjoyed by all. 5
