..'GI.ASSI’OX LN MONTAGUE- "Glasspox" invaded the Montague area yesterday with reports of many motorists noticing the distinct pack marks on the windshields of their vehicles. First reporu came in Thursday. and yesterday saw many more added to them. For the first time, however, it struck at a plate glass window in this district, that of the Mabon Drug Company, on which pack marks are clearly dis- tinct. With the added number of uses reported} interest and spec- ulation is aroused as to the cause. but up to the moment no logical explanation has been advanced which seems to answer all cases.

Members and friends of the Queen Mary Needlework Guild will be interested in the following extracts from letters written by Miss Lena Mcbure and Miss Aud- rey DeBloia on the occasion of their recent presentation to the Queen Mother Elizabeth at St. James’ Palace. Miss Mcbure and Miss DeBiois acted as representa- tives from the Charlottetown Branch to the Annual Meeting of the London Branch of the Guild. The Giuld hopes, that when these two ladies return to Charlottetown they will give the members a first hand description of this memor- able event. In the meanwhile their vividly descriptive letters tell an interesting story.

Mlss.McLure writes: “How very kind of you to arrange that lovely invitation to St. James’ Palace for Audrey and me. It does seem too bad that you could not have been present. Perhaps some day-you will. In the meantime I am deeply grateful to you for allowing us to represent the Charlottetown Branch in your place. The invitation came about ten days preceding the meet- ing and a note was enclosed from the Baroness Beaumont. saying:

On the other side were about 8 tables seating about 8 people. At these tables the Presidents of various groups sat. The Queen Mother and the Prin- cess Royal were at different tab- les. Representative women in var- ious parts of the work were at these tables. one dear elder soul was chatting away to the Queen Mother. She was having a wonder- ful time. Not much wonder the British Royalty are loved. They are graclous._ good, most human people. After that the Baroness Beaumont’: daughter said ‘Her Majesty will receive a few after tea’. We were given the idea that she had to get off to have tea with Prince Charles and Prin- ceaa Anne. The Queen Mother was looking so lovely. that I am sure she was just like any other Grannie going to show her pretty clothes to adoring grand- children. Then the presentation seemed as if the number would be shortened I said to let Audrey go. This was not quite as noble as it seems. because on the lath Miss .MacDonald of Sieat had presented me. Audrey was thrilled and she had her letter off to you soon. I have been working so late and overtime that this is Monday the 22nd before I can get this started.

He is survived by a sister Mary. who tenderly cared for him dur- ing his long illness. and three brothers_ Silas, James and David. all in the Canadian West.

The funeral will be held fro his late residence on Monday ster- noon. Interment will be in the Montague Community Cemetery.

These letters were in answer to a request. for ad] vice as to our future overseas work.

From the Baroness Beaumont: "I, am so glad the two girls enjoyed; the party and I am so pleased that you thought of telling me that they garments if your members like garments if your members like making bootees, do let. them and if they could do a bonnet and a lit.- tle matinee coat to match mak- ing 5 garments sewn together it would be perfect.
