The feeling amongst Montreal Irishmen is running higher daily for Parnell. large meeting held to-day, presided over by C. J. Doherty, Q. C., the tollowing resolu- tion was moved by H. J. Cloran and pass- ed unanimously: Resolved, that this meeting agrees with Cardinal Man- ning, that Parnell should only be deposed upon political grounds, and further avers that no grounds exist tor demanding the retirement of the leader of the Irish people.” Strong speeches were made, andin reply to the statement that Irish bishups were against Parnell. It was stated that the bishops were against Daniel O’Conne | and if they were wrong then they might be in error now.
