At Murray Harbour. on the evening of the 8th inst., after along and painful illness, which she born with much christian patience and resignation. Char- lotte. the wife of Mr. David Breetchton. in the 36th year of her age. deservedly regretted by her large family circle. as well as the whole circle of her acquaintances. who testilied their respect by the most numerous and respectful attendance at her funeral ever witnessed in this Settlement.—Com

I suffer nothiii by his calumny. You may remstiiber. that in the Session of I841, he was ll member of the Committee of the House of Assembly. sworn to decide irnpiirlially on a question of a contested Election then decided by the House. and after having voted in opposition to evidence 0 the most irrefrugible nature, he was asked how he could do so. his reply was. that it would never do for him to vote against his party.

Being at present. and having been for many years ' practical Agriculture as the life. I feel a lively interest in this the principal branch of our Colonial industry ; and should I succeed in my Election you may rest assured that the interest of the Farmer in whatever respect it can be promoted shall ever be uppermost in the port I shall take in Legislation.

I n that Mr. \'Vhel:in received. as Queen’s Printer, for the last two years alone, £1471 l8s ll It is no wonder that r. 'be- lan. hoping to gain between Seven and Eight hundred Pounds rt car by it—should print and circulate hun- dreds of Petitions all through the countr . praying for a Dissolution of the House of Assemb y. When his party succeeds in getting a ma‘ rity again. I sup- pose we shall he ruled. as Mr. helan threatened. at a public meeting in the Temperance Ilall. “ with a r 0 iron!" Mr. Coles was present at that nieetin . and it is well known. that M . Col and bclsn plot and scheme together. whatever they may seem to say to the contrary. But Gentle- men. the only way to get an end ut to this sort of work, is, to rid both branches 0 the Legislature altogether of oflics-holders. for a bill last Session. positively excluding every one holding an ollice of emolument from the Legislature, with the exception of two. the Attorney General and the Colonial Secretary; but this would not suit the Coun- cil, who wanted inany.of the offices themselves, and consequently threw out the bill.
