WASHINGTON. July 11 -(AP) --Gen. Omar Bradley was reported to have told United States senators today that ground troops from other United Nations countries will Join American and South Korean ;-oldie-rs fighting in Red-invaded South Korea. But there are some indications that this aid may be only of a "token" nature.

Bradley was quoted by Senator Millard Tydings (Dem. Md.) as saying that some of the United States' U. N. allies have offered troops, and the offers have been accepted.

2. The question of calling up American reserves or national guardsmen (militia) is under study and "is decision may be only partial "rather than all-inclusive."

3. The United States faces an "extremely difficult” problem in Korea and it will be several

weeks before the situation is clarified.

MONTREAL. July 11 - (CF) - Two policemen were shot and wounded by a nervous young gun- man and more than 36,000 in loot was taken in two holdups today.

Constables Paul-Emile Dagcnuls and Marcel Mascarin were shot within minutes of each other af- ter a blonde youth held up a northeast-end watch repair store. In an earlier robbery four men took 36.000 in rings from a west- end jewelry store after beating up a clerk.

The Provincial Women's Insti- tute asked that the educational system in Prince Edward Island be standardized at their closing session held yesterday at the Prince of Wales College.

With a large crowd in atten- dance at the second and final day of the 37th Convention. the resolutions committee brought in a number of suggestions which were met with much discussion.

Two of these are especially im- poriant to the future of the Prov- ince in that they deal with the educational system now in use. It was stated that in most Prov- inces one year's education beyond grndc ten level is sufficient for matriculation. It was, therefore resolved that the Women's Insti- tutes of P. E. I. urge the Depart- ment of Education to standardize ihis phase of the educational sys- em.

It. was also noted that there is no standardization of Normal School training in the different Provinces, which necessarily re- sults in a different. progran of studies being used in the sc ools. It was resolved that the Women's

Heavy L'.xportlng of livestock during the past month is reflected in the shipment figures for June released yesterday from the office of the Superintendent of the Can- adian National R.allways.- Char- lottetown. Ninety-two carloads were exported during the month against fifty-iiircc during the same month a year ago.

Potato shipments were consider- ably higher than 'ihose one year ago as 323 carloads were shipped out of the Province in June com- pared with 249 earloads 1949. Only two cars of turnips were shipped during the month against five in June 1949.
