lilr. Alexander Affleck, ‘Scarle- town. who celebrated his 95th birthday on April 20. Mn Affleck, "Grand old man" of the dlsirletls in full , esslon of all his faculties and takes an active interest in. his extensive and prosperous fnrm. On his birthday last week he warm- ly greeted the many visitors from all parts of the Province who call- ed w wish him many happy re- turns. In addition he received mnay mmages conveying birthday greetings from and friends.

Mr. Afflsck was born at Dun- staffnage. Queens County and mov- ed to Besrletown when nearly. l5 years of age with his-parents and has resided ever since on the same property. His father, Joseph Affleck land~ ed at Rustico from Scotland in 1825 when at the age of seven years. He died when only 56_ His mother was Nellie Stewart, who came out from Scotland in 1622 at the age of four years. She died in 1906 in her 88th year. Allexander Aiflcck married Miss Margaret Crockett of Carleton in i368. Mrs. Mfleck died on August Zlst. 192i at 75 years of age.
