The Examwrnrn has called in the Moncton Times to aid itin the cotten warp centre- versy. The EXaMIneR is wise, for if there is a paper in this Dominion prepared to run full tilt against facts and to play jug- sling tricks with figures it is the Bloncton Times.-- Patriot.

This is very neat as a paragraph, bnt it is neither fact or argument. The Patriot jimtimated a few days ago that the N. P. had caused an increase in the price of cot- ton warps from $1.00 to $1.50 per bundle of 5 lbs. We puinted out that the increase in the duty was only equal to 74 cents on a $1.00 bundle—that is the duty was changed from seventeen ond a half per cent. ad valorem to fifteen per cent. ad valorem, and a specific duty of two cents per [h,—equa! to 25 per cent. It was the Patrwt that ‘Suggled with the warp figures, and ran full tilt against the facts.— Moncton Vimes.

Orr, in a letter to the Montreal Witness points out the singu- lav fact that the translators have substan- tially adopted the rendering which was in neo three centuries ago. He says :—‘‘ Ine Bible which I possess, printed in 1608 by Robert Baker, London, the word love is used. It is well known also that John, Wesley, who, I believe, was no mean Greek scholar, in a translation of the New Testa- ment which he made in 1754, uses the same word instead of ch_rity.”

The amount of the appropriation is $10,000.
