The Coroner, Dr. A_. A. Kennedy, was notified and after» viewing the body. decided an inquest was not necessary.

Mr. MacLeod disappeared from tiha home of his brother and ais- bcr, Mr. Alban MacLeod and Miss Sadie MacLeod, where he was residing, sometime yesterday be- fore 5 am. His cap was found on the wharf by his sister, and Mayor MacConaieil ef_ Georgetown was immediately notified. A search party was organized at. once and dragging operations were. iflfllm- menmd. The body was found about 8.30 ayim. by Messrs- Stephen Landry, Morris DeLory and Gordon Douglas who were dragging on the north side of the wharf. The R. C. M. P. detatchment at Montague had been notified and were on the scene when the body was recover- ed. The victim, a resident of George- town, was a retired. Town Clerk and school teacher. In recent years, he was employed by James Hewitt and Eons, Lower , Montague. as book-keeper. He had been in fall- ing health for some time. The late Mr. MacLeod was not married.

Rideau Hall Suffers’ Serious. Water Damage

A Saint. John lawyer for nearly 40 years. he was a Conservative member of the New Brunswick Legislature from 1930 until hia defeat in this year's election. He had been Grand Master of the Orange Order in New Brunswick for three terms and Grand Mas- ter of the sovereign Grand Lodge of British North America.
