Wonder ul Cures.
There is considerable talk in Dartmouth just now about a man named McDonald who is credited with some wouderful cures of pains aud aches by laying on of hand, The incredulity and noncontidence of some of the most obdurate disbelievers in this sort of spiritaalism has been shaken by reports of the stranger’s doings in Dartmouth. An Evening Mail reporter talked with several weli known citizens who declared positively that McDonald had caused members of their families to get up and walk in an instant, after being iaid up for years. The mo-t extravagant stories are told and believed of the man’s wonderful power. McDonald is being sought after to restore impaired sight, to cause Cancers to disappear, to straighten crooked and deformed limbs, to make sciatica and headache vanish, and in short to make the biind to see, the lame to walk and the dumb to speak. It is no fairy tale, but an actual fact that these things «re happening in Dartmouth and the strangest part of it is the reported wonderful cures are apparently beyond question, in several cases investigated by the reporter, and the trouble is to account for them. McDonald charges nothing for his services and his attenda ce is as efficacious without as with presents. His own statemevt of iis al- leged extraordinary power is that he knows nothing more than anybody elve. He says he is an agent only. A barber by trade, a few years ago he received a call one night and a voice said to bim, “Go do my work. and you shall not want.” McDonald was three times inspired by the vision, end eft his trade and pursued his present, avoca- tion. Hesays he does not know what works the cures.
