On the evening of March 20 of this year I and a friend were on campus, with the in— tention of visiting another mutual friend and later seeing a movie downtown,

I parked my car in the visitor's lot in front of the Duffy building. As we were leaving the lot a mem- ber of the UPEI security police approached me to ask if I knew that this lot was

decided to sit in it with him as the professor is an old friend. I found‘out

had met looked in a win— dow during this class, apparently concluding that I had lied to him about

not being a student. When the class was over around 8:15 we went to our res— ident friendfs room for half an hour: arriving back at the parking lot at 8:40 we found the car missing and were told that the car was at Bell's Garage and could not be obtained that even- ing without paying the tow— ing charge. question was ingenuouS' enough to tell us that he had made sure my car was well blocked into Bell's lot, because he thought I "looked like the type" who would try to recapture it. Recognizing futility when we saw it we took a cab downtown, but were too late to get into the film at Confederation Centre as all the seats were by then occupied. we had lost app- roximately half an hour getting to towh and thus missed the film, "Anne of Green Gables," which was

The next morning I tele- phoned chief A.J. MacLeod and let myself be persuad- ed into a meeting with him and the officer who had had the car towed, so thatfhe couldfihear "both sides of the story". Mr. MacLeod did not make it to the meeting that afternoon but instead sent word to release my car, and I was driven to the garage to reclaim it at app- roximately 2 p.m. A UPEI
