pected to begin in the latter half of 1965. Resources Minister Rene Le-

vesque said this week it is 90- per-cent certain Becancour Will be the site. Gerard Filion. a di- rector of Sidbec. as the new company is known. also backs it.

The Liberals. campaigning for election in 1959. not only promised Quebec a steel indus- try, but also promised to cle- centralize industry. They feel Sidbec could meet both com- mitments.
