Sav Deatu.—Mr.Geo. McKenzie, of the Registry Offiee, died suddenly last evening. We understand that Mr. McKenzie was sus- pected of appendicitis and tbat an operation revealed that be bad perforation of the bowels presumably as a complication of typhoid @fever. All that human skill could do in his case was done and much sympathy is expressed with his wife and family. Mr. McKenzie belonged to New London, and made many friends during his term of office in Charlottetown.

Lost Bora Train axp Lire.—A warn- ing to those who run for a train ‘comes from Aylmer, Ont. Mr. A. D. McDonald, a news agent, after dinner ran from the hotel to the station to catch his train, and return to his family in St. Thomas. de was late and ran nearly all the way out, but the train had gone when he got there. He walked back tou town and went to the store of Mr. Palmer. Leaning up against @ work bench at the back of the etore, he remarked to Mr. Palmer and his daughter that he had never ran sc hard in bie life to catch a train, and expressed regret at missing it. Almost immediately he placed his hand over bis heart, saying, “Oh, I’ve got an awful pain.” Those were his last words, as he fell on the ftoor a corpse.

MARRIAGE AT HUNTER RIVER.

An event ofa highly interesting and most im portant character took place vesterd ay afternoon at the residence of Mr. D. McKinnon, station master at Hunter River. The allusioniatothe warriage of Mr. McKinnon’s daughter Katie A, and Mr. Jobn M. Nicholson, the popular and efficient siauou agent at Wiltshire. The ceremony was performed bv Rev. Geo. Miller,in the presence of the immediate frieuds of the persons interested. The bride wae attended by Miss Jeanette Mc- Leod, of Hunter River, and Mr, H. Bethune, of Charlotietown, supported the groom. The bride was dreased in fawn trimmed with lace to match, and the brides- maid wore grey. Amovogihe many val- uable presents received by the bride was a handsome clock from ihe choir of the Presbyterian church of which she is a member. The groom was presented with an address of congratulation and also with a very havdsume clock, by the mem- ters ofthe Order of Telegraphers in the railway service, to which he repiied in fitting terms.
