The funeral of the late Wallace Luwtner. whose death took place on Friday morning at his home North Carelton, at the ripe age of 93, was held from the home on Sunday afternoon. Friends and re- latives were present from Corn- wall. sun-imerslde. and the adjac- ent communities. The Rev. Burton Crows conducted the service and flid a high tribute to the splendid Qualities of the life and character of the deceased. The hymns sung were: ‘The Lord's My Shepherd" “Nearer My God to Thee" and "Peace Perfect Peace". The pali- bearers were: Messrs. I-leber Myers, Hudson Lowther. John I-laslani. Percy Inwthcr. Nell Bradshaw and Stephen Huestis. interment was in Bearletowri Cemetery.

A large crowd gathered at the Augustine Cove rink on Saturday evening to -watch a game of hockey between Uncle Bud's rangers and the Albany Juniors. in which the rangers won by a score of 9-4. This was followed by an hour's skating and a mocassln dance. music being furnished by Wendell Mayhew of Crapaud, lunches were sold by the W. I.

'Ilhe monthly meeting of Park- dale Women's Institute was held in the hall on February 6th. with an attendance of 35 members and 2 visitors. Reports of the various committees were read and adopted.

The sick committee reported that 11 cards had been sent ailso mowers given to two members 11‘. in the hospital. The soliocl com- mittee reported visiting the school and it was decided to pui-cluise a main. also a platfonn to be used in front of blackboard in a junior grade room.

The Guide leader reported that there were 17 girls enrolled and that an assistant was needed. The Brownies have an attc-nuance of 28. Mr. Ivan Vessevy is to be the assistant scout-Master and Mr. Earl Higgins the assistant Cub- Master. '

The Ways and Means Committee reported that a white elephant sraie had been held also that a tea had been served to the Agricultural Of- ficials at Blrc’.l'i Court. ’

The meeting opened with the re- citation of the Institute ode. The roll call was answered by each member paying a nickel. The min- utes of the December meeting were read. approved and signed by the president.

A letter of thanks was read from sister Margaret Marie for the radio presented to them at Christmas

It was decided to dispense with the sick treats for the remainder of the year. Get-well cards were to be sent instead. The school com- mittee: reported that two dozen coat hooks and two boxes of Kleenex were needed.

All outstanding bills were to be paid at the first opportunilv.

MacDonald, and dil- cussed briefly. but because of the small attendance it was carried over until the next meeting. A delegate is to be chosen for the coming international conference in Copenhagen. but the-voting on the subject will be completed at is later date.

At the next meeting, which will be on March 2nd. the members will tell an Irish joke to answer roll call. After singing the Na- tional Anthem at the close of the meeting, the hostess, Mrs.‘ Mac- Plierson served a delicious lunch. During the social hour which fol- lowed, Mrs. Curl MacKlnnon pro- vided organ music.

The February meeting of the Pisquid west women's Institute met at the home of Mrs. John H. Jay with an a“endnnce of nine members and four visitors.

The meeting opened by repeating the creed. Roll call was answered by each member passing in two articles for Bingo prizes. The min- utes of the last meeting were read and adopted.

The February meeting of Baltic W. 1. met at the home of Mrs. Bruce Crozler on rhursday even- ing. February 2. Meeting opened by singing the "The Ode" and re- peating the Oreed bi unison.

Roll call was answered by nine members exchanging an original Valentine. A paper on St. Valen- tine's Day was given by Mrs. cor- don Couslns. It was decided to keep the books from the Library for one more month. Reports of different committees were given: sick committee reported having visited three shut-ms and taken fruit to each. for which a bill of $1.50 was moved paid. Sccreary was asked to send to Charlottetown for paper on Eiiication. A paper on Health Hints is to be given at the next meeting by Mrs. David Cousins. Receipt for $2.00 for Cop. cnhagon Quilt was received, also the voting for a delegate to go to the Conference, then took place.

After some discussion on the one- act plays. it was decided to return same and ask for different ones.

A letter of thanks was read from Spr. Harold McKenzie of Chilliwack, B. C. for remembering him while at his home on furlough.

The regular monthly meeting of Orwell Cove W.l. was held at the home of Mrs. J. A. Macbeod on Feb. 9th with an attendance of ll members and one visitor. Two sick calls were reported. It was moved and seconded to buy paper towels for the school.

The members voted on repre- sentatives to be sent to Cope... hagen. Five dollars was voted to help to pay the expenses of the trip. The members also gave their donation to the March of Dimes.
