Sentenced To Dorchester

Three men who escaped from Queen's County Jail saw- ing through bars on the second floor late Monday afternoon. and were apprehended by RCMP in the Port Eigin, N.B. area about midnight Monday, ap- peared in Queen County Magis- trate's Court Friday and were sentenced to terms in Dor- chester Penitentiary on char- ges of unlawfully escaping from custody. The sentences were meted out by Magistrate James B. Johnston, QC.

RCMP received the report of the break about 9.30 pm. and immediately set up road blocks as part of an effort to return the escapees to custody.

The trio did not have legal counsel when they appeared for sentencing Friday.
