Paris, May 23.—The Figaro publishes an iraportant that the delicate Niger question, which threateved to lead to an Anglo-French war, has been settled and that an agreement between the two Governments will be signed this week at the French oreign office.

The agreemeni it is said will be satis- factory to both nations,

It involves mutual concessions, the ehief being that the town Boussa which the French occupied but which the Eng’ i<h claimed by earlier treaties, will be given to England while France will retain Nikki and two towns in the middle.

The importance of Bouassa lies in fact that itis the highest town to which the river Niger is navigable.
