The Agence Russe of St. Petersburg pub- lishes the following declaration :—‘* All the Powers are equally desirous of peace. It is natural that there should be some difference as to the best means of assuring it. A strong anti-League feeling is being aroused all over Ulster. County Down has been the first to act. A meeting of loyalists of each polling district of Down, ‘‘ to consider the state of the country and what steps should be taken to counteract the action of the League,’ was held last evening in Belfast. A committee was appointed to carry ont the determination arrived at, which is to hold opposition meetings wherever the League meetings are held.

The following resolution of the Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland, referring to the Down Anti-Land League, was read :—**The Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland heartily approves of the contemplated action of the loy alists of Down to counteract the working of the Land League, and earnestly recom- mends all true Orangemen to aid in the movement. Polling manifests to which are attached the names and addresses of up- ward uf ten thousand persons, representing all classes, have been issued within two days to the loyal men of Down. We have up to the present ¥ atched with feelings of indignation the progress of the Land League orgal ation, led by enemies of the British constit ution and aiming at the dismember- ment of the Hmpire.
