The September meeting of the South Granville Womenls Instit- ute was held at the home of Mrs. Sheldon Abbott on Wednesday evening, September 3rd, with an attendance oi ten members.

The secretary reported that a signboard was ordered ior the school, and the school committee reported that they had visited the school and bought necessary art- icles. Bills for above were on motion paid. Mrs. John 1!. Mac- Leod was appointed to see about getting a bell for school; also it was decided to buy a large gas lantern for the school, and Mrs. J. H. Maclleod was to buy same, money being voted to pay ior it and given to Mrs. MacLeod.

Mrs. W. Moase had an interest- ing contest which resulted in a tie between Mrs. D. Rayner and Mrs. S. Moase. Mrs. Rayner drew the longest straw and won the prize. Mrs. William Waite made two recordings with each member saying something. The meeting closed with the Queen and this also was recorded. Later both records were played, which caused much amusement. The hostess. assisted by the committee, served a. beautiful lunch.
