May Invite Russian Chess Team To "Canada
WINNIPEG. (CP)-Dr. Nathan Divinsky of Winnipeg, president of the Canadian Chess Federation. said Monday that a Russian chess team now touring Argentina may be invited to visit Canada.
He said it is "an almost cer- tainty" that the 10-man Russian team. eight of.whom are among the top 10 players in the world. will be in New York in June.
"I will be writing the Russian consulate later today to see what it would cost to bring the team to Canada it they would like to come. There is nothing definite yet. "We wouldn't stand a chance in a match such as this but it would add a lot to the chess interest in Canada if the Russian team did come."
