all the Green Forest folk. They were Stubwing the Hawk and his equally fierce mate. Stubwing is so called because his wings are not as long and broad as the whims of some of the other mem- bers of the hawk family. They are slightly different in shape and rather stubby. His PFOPET Fame is Cooper's Hawk. Sharpshin is the smallest member of the hawk fam- ily living in the Green Forest. Stuhwing is just a little bigger. but not very much. Both of them are feared by all the smaller Deo le. especially the feathered folk.

Mr. and Mrs. Stubwing had a large and very comfortable nest, for they were good homemakers. It wasn't quite as big a nest as that of their big cousin Redtail. but in some ways it was a better looking nest. for It was built of smaller sticks. It was a new nest this year: Mrs. Stubwing likes a new home every year. Only once in awhile will she use an old nest which for some reason she is es- pecially fond 0!.
