Inifoods, between July 1 and Aug. 1 most fresh vegetables went down, but fresh tomatoes went up instead 0t dropping as usual. Apples, imported bananas and oranges were up. Beet prices were down slightly. Pork was up. Eggs were down by four cents a dozen. .

The shelter index rose from 138.4 to 139.1. The clothing index dropped to 1096 from 109.9.

The household operation index dropped from 120.6 to 120.5.

But Finance Minister Flen'ii-ng, biting back at his critics, said the issue has stabilized the Canadian bond market to the benefit of all levels of government and private business in the borrowings they must undertake. it would enable eltective debt management by the government.
