Bible Classes On Increase

Pastor Gerald Scholz. the Ont- ario District Director for the “Train Two" Bible study pro- gram. reports that during 1963 The Lutheran Church— Missou- ri Synod, established 2,300 new Bible classes and cottage study groups. From 46,000 communi- cant members in Bible classes In 1942 the enrollment has grown to 283,000 in 1963.

In the “Train-Two" project. a congregation (1) makes a self- study of its potentials, (2) culti- vates new interest, (3) selects and trains two lay leaders for all existing classes and for orn- jected classes (with a five-year expansion in mind), (4) chooses courses according to the needs of the church and the interests of the people, (5) enlists people an every- member visitation and (6) sets up new classes (weekday and Sunday. at church and in homes) to expand its outreach through life - related Bible study.

Two Burned In Flamlng Car Accident

ARICHAT, N.S. (CP) — A man and woman died In a flam- ing car after It collided with an- other csr Thursday on a high- way near this eastern Cape Breton community. second man is in hospital here with se- vere burns.

The dead were identified as John Baptiste DeCoste, 53. and Evelyn Bernice Shaw. 50, both of Arlchst. In hospital ls Rennie Joseph Landry. 29, of nearby Petit dc Grat.

The three were travelling In a small foreign car that collided with a truck. Police said the car overturned and then ex- ploded. Landry was believed to have been thrown clear.

Police said identification of the victims was difficult. The woman was Identified only by small pieces of clothing several hours after the accident.

The driver of the truck escap- ed injury.
