Hel» for the Poor Children. Sin, -—-My heart was glad when I saw, by the city atlies, that the kind-hearted peo- ple of Charlottetown had placed it within | the power of the Stipendiary Magistrate to give away so many geese to the poor of this city, lately. How many young hearts would be gladdened, and how many prayers of thankfulness would be offered up, we may never know; but one thing is certain, the kind givers would never be any the worse for them.

But is it to stop here? When a geese are given away is all done that can | be done Cannot dhose who are blest with means put some of it to good interest | by doing something permanently for the) good of the poor, especially the poor chil- | dren / Charlottetown has not mahy charit- | able institutions, and something of this kind would be greatly to her credit.
