Feb. - The Public Forest Council is hosting public meetings, hosting an intemet comment line, and inviting written presentations/letters to allow Islander’s and other interested people to provide their comments on a new forest policy for Prince Edward Island. The discussion paper is online at www.gov.pe.ca/go/forestpolicy or contact the Council at 902-368-6450.

Feb. 8 & 15 - The Public Forest Council will be hosting public meetings to allow Islander’s and other interested people to provide their comments on a new forest policy for Prince Edward Island. Feb. 18 to 21 - The Great Backyard Bird Count allows backyard birding enthusiasts to submit their sightings of birds seen in their backyards. Apr. 5 - Rick Hawkins will be the Society’s guest speaker with the presentation - Finding Frogs in the P.E.I.

CALL FOR OTHER CRITICAL ISSUES & COMMENTS - A NEW FOREST POLICY:

Forests impact both our quality of life and economy. The forest policy consultations now underway will lead our forest management programs for many years to come. If you feel a critical issue was missed or wish to have your say, please provide your comments (see first item in the Environmental Calendar). So far, the critical issues identified are: public land; forests on unploughed lands, quality of life, education and training, plantations and planting, and forest products.
