Painret Accipent.—The Summerside correspondent of the Guardian says: Mr Dan McDonald son of Mrs Arehd. McDon-~ ald of this town, met with a painful acci- dent last Tuesday at Tignish where he has been employed in one of tke factories of the Portland Packing Ce. While driving a loaded truckwagon the wdeel dropped into arut throwing him oft. The wagon

passed over one arm making as bad compound fracture. Dr Murphy attended him.

Ciry Councrt.—An emergency meeting of the City Couccil was held last evening

to consider the sewer bill. Councillor Lyons was the only absentee. The follow- ing resolutions moved by Councillor

Crabbe and eeconded by Councillor Taylor were adopted: “Resolved that the committee appointed to draft the sewer bill now before tne Legislation are herebs authorized to with- draw said bill on account of the very material charges made in ite provision. “Resolved that in the event of the Legis- lature not allowing the Council to with~ draw the bill or refusing to pass tie original bill that His Worship the Mayor be authorized to call a publie meeting of the citizens in the Market Hall to consider the bill as amended. Carried unani-~ mously.”
