In the passing of Mr. John Y» I-lopgood, the Bloomfield commun- ity has lost one of its oldest and most respected residents. He. suf- fered a most severe stroke and despite all that medical scieme could do, he passed peacefully away on May 12th. The late ivlr. Hopgood was the senior Elder Bloomfield United Church and a. most luteresikd and active Church member all of his. life. He was 84 years of age. I-ie was always a. hard worker. was interested in the welfare of his neighbors and the community in general. lind was always a good friend to those in need.

The funeral service was held from Bloomfield United Church on Snturday afternoon a was con- ducted by his Minister. Rev. W. G. Dickson. The spacious Church was filled to overflowing with friends iirid neighbors and loved ones who had gathered to pay their last re- spects to one who, was so unl- versally loved. The Minister spoke about Mr. f-Iopgoodu great gener- crity in his givings to the church and benevolent funds. of his de- voted service in the Ilderahlp and of his faith and trust in the lord Jesus Christ.
