Mr. George Anstle oi Peakes, proprietor oi n. threshing mill, is still doing threshing although he is an elderly man. On March 27, he threshed for Mr. Alfred Don- nelly of St. Patrick's Road. It is fortunate for the people of this vicinity that Mr. Anstle is so spry and healthy.

'The March meeting oi the Little Pond sub-division of C.W. L. was held in the Church Vestry with a good attendance. The president opened the meeting with prayer.

Following the roll call and read- ing of the minutes of previous meeting, the treasurer read her re- port which was most favorable. The sick committee. Miss Annie Steele and Mrs. Chas. S. MacDonald ef- ficiently iuliilled their duties by visiting sick and giving treats. Mrs. .Vincent and Mrs. Aeneas were ap- pointed on sick committee for next month.

It was moved and seconded that a Mass be offered for Alex A. Mac- donald, also a message oi sympathy

One new member was warmly welcomed and correspondence was read and ulscussed. It was decided to make it cake ior Easter to in- crease funds and members present donated a dime each towards buy- ing ingredients for same. Cake is to be drawn for at Easter.

It was moved and seconded all bills be paid and remnants received from mail order houses by Presid- ent were distributed to all present. It was then decided the Church was to be cleaned and linens laun- dered before Easter.

Mr. John MacKie has returned to his home in Howe Bay. having spent several months in Maine and other parts of U. S. A. While in Boston he attended the mar- riage of his sister Pearl.

Messrs. Francis and Rand Jen- kins are busy with the snow plows trying to clear secondary roads for car and truck travel.

Mr. Reginald and Peter Mac- donald. Sourls. are receiving much sympathy in the sudden and un- expected death of their brother, Joseph A.. which occurred in Souris recently.

The president. Edith MacDonald, was in the chair, and the mee ing opened with the reading of the at meetings minutes by the secre- tary. Lorna MacDonald.

The roll call was answered by a "memory gem" by each member. The secretary, reported no corres- pondence received and no new business was transacted. For the next roll call it was decided that each member tell of a trick played on April Fool's Day.

The new committees appointed were as follows:-Health-Kenny MacDonald and Mary K. Munro? Sick-Jean Ann Munro and Betty MacBcih; Water-Lona MacDon- ald and Mary K. Correspondence was read and discussed and it was decided to leave the matter oi sending a care box overseas until the May meet-

delegate to represent the Montague branch at the institute convention in June.

Mrs. Lester Macneod reported she had approached Mr. Duvar regarding repairs on . a school

radio and Mrs. Albert Fraser and Mrs. William MacLean reported for the visiting committee. Only one member was reported ill dur- ing the month.

Mrs. William Maoloan reported for the Red Cross committee and the following articles were com- pleted and passed in: 10 prs. short stockings. 2 prs. long stockings, ii prs. overalls, 6 -prs. shorts, 1 lay- eite and 2 sweaters.

Mrs. Arnold Vanlrlerstine invit- ed the ladies to her home for the May meeting and Mrs. Vernon MacLean and Mrs. Spencer Llewel- lyn were appointed on the pro- gram committee.

At the close of the meeting lunch was served by the hostess assisted by several ladies.
