They settled in Montreal and he was educated at the High School. At an early age he entered the ranks of journalism, and was managing director and editor of the Calgary Herald in ts-ss-tsso. and for two years he was joint pro prietor and editor of the Canadian Military Gazette.

IComing back to the East in the ‘nineties Mir. Chambers joined the staff of the Montreal Witness, for which paper he acted as City Hall reporter. He contributed at various times a number of publications on parliamentary, historical, mlltary, hunting and yachting subjects; and among many books which he edited was the Canadian Parlia- mentary Guide, which was publish- ed with the patronage of the Par- liament of Canada and the legisla- tures of tho various provinces.
