Fall Sports Round-up

Men’s Soccer

The Panthers capture of the AUAA title was the highlight of the 98 fall sports season. The team breezed trough the regular season, eating up the competition with a 9-4-2 win/loss/tie record & 14/17 goals for/against.

At the AUAA’s in the semi-finals, the Panthers scored twice and shut out Dalhousie University in the final. Goran Rudic was named AUAA Allstar, Jonathan Vos was selected as AUAA Rookie of the Year, and Glen Miller was awarded teh title of AUAA League MVP. At the CIAU, MVP and called to the All-Canadian First Team as well, Goran Rudic was named to the All Canadian second squad.

Women’s Soccer

The Lady Panthers finished a strong seaaon with a 7-5-1 recod, and | 4/17 goal for/against. Lhe Panthers post season ended after one game with a dissapointing 2-0 overtime loss to Dalhousie.

Women’s Field Hockey

UPEI rounded their season with a 1-3-4 win-loss-tie record and a 4/10 goals for/against record. In lieu of their poor offensive showing, the Lady Panthers played well defensively managing 3 shut-outs over the course of the an 8 game re ular season. In the post season the Lady Panthers lost their one and only game to Saint Mary’s 2-1. Holly Boswell and Janna Coade were called as AUAA allstars. Tracy Gairns was awarded Rookie of the Year, and coach Erin O’Brien won AUAA Coach of the Year.
