A native of North Dakota, Dr; V Deane holds an AB. degree from Carleton College, Northt‘iel-d, Minn and an MD. from the Univer-

sity of Minnesota. She has also done post graduate work at the American Medical Association in Vienna, Austria. She was em- ployed by Du Pont at the Ala- bame Ordnance Plant, Childers- burg, from 1942 until the endof World War II.

In 1946 she returned to the Company at Old Hickory, remain- ing there until 1949. She return- ed to the Company for the third time in June 1953 at SRP.
