BISHOP MASDONALD’S TOUR,

Statue Blessed —-Corner Stone Laid —Confirmation Administered,

On Saturday Bisbop Macdonald blessed astatue of the Sacred Heart of Jesus at Palmer Road and confirmed a class of children; on Sunday he confirmed about 235 persons at Tignish and laid the corner stone of the new CU, M. B. A. hall, after «peaking in the highest praise of the in- stitution and approving of it in the tullest terms. Sunday at4 p.m. he made tbe pastoral visitation of St. Antoine de Bloomfi.li where he was received with great pomp and ceremony and a very large concourse of people. He con- firmed a class of 120 children, speaking earnestly to them in English after Dr. Monaghan’s beautiful exhortation in French. He took occasion to warn the people against the loose morality of the ay and strongly denounced those who carrying Catholic names and stil) ad- hering outwardly to the Church conspired to bring by th ir ecandalous lives and sacrifice of honor and principle shame and opprobrium upon her. The church re- probated such morals, and he only hoped thet the children confirmed would lead lives of virtue to the end—true to God to Holy Church aod to the Fatherland. His forcible words made a lasting impression on the vast covgregation. Yesterday Bishop MacDonald administered con firmation at Brae.

Roucd 1 was the sailors; round2 even; round 3 Ruhlin got first blood; round 4 was Sharkey’s ; round 5, Ruhlin groggy . round 6 Sharkey’s eye was laid open . round 7 both tired ; round &, Sharkey almost counted out ; rounds 9 and 10 both tired, but, Sbarkey aggresive ; rounds 12, 13, 14, Sharkey bleeding, but. both tired out; round 15 Sharkey down twice, Ruhlin too tired to deliver an effective blow, Sharkey falls athirdtime and is counted out.
