INo, it’s not the Super Bowl. It’s not the Bud Bowl, either. It’s Mud Bowl II, andit’s coming to a field near you. This Friday, October 14th t 2:00 PM, be ready for Co-ed touch (not that kind of touch, what kind of sick mind do you have?) football to be played on the pseudo- grass of the Blanchard Bowl. The Mud Bowl has a storied tradition dating back to last year, when (Ron Annear was visited by current sponsor John Labatt who said, “‘you know Ron, football would be a good intramural lactivity.’” The rest ishistory. Upcoming Games

**The men’s hockey team hits the ice at the Civic Centre versus SMU on Wednesday, Oc- tober 12 at 7:30. They then head to the mainland for two games, playing Dalhousie on the 15th, and Acadia on the 16th.

**The women’s soccer team plays at home against Moncton on Wednesday the 12th at 4:00 PM, and against the Lady Xavierians of ST. FX on the 15th at 2:00PM.

**The men’s soccer team sees action away from home on the weekend of the 15th and 16th, as they play at MT. Allison on Saturday and against the UNB varsity Reds on Sunday. **The ficld hockey team has a pair of games at home against SMU. On the 15th they play at 4:00 PM, and they face the Huskies on Sunday at noon. Let’s go out and give our Panthers some support both at the rink and here in the friendly confines of MacAdam field.

Intramural Basketball

Another season of intramurals is off to a rollicking start as five teams play in the highly competitive A division, while seven more make up the field in the evenly balanced B division. As the program-vendors say at ball games, “you can’t tell the players without a scorecard’; so, it’s handy to get a good idea of what each league has to offer interested fans. Intramural basketball, it’s fan... well, almost as good as Thru the Roof Thursdays.

A DIVISION

The rich get richer: the Fab Four core of last year’s league champion Redmen Revival team have struck gold in the free agent market by picking up playmaker extrordinaire Darrell Glenn (a former Panther) to weave his magic on the hardwood. The revamped Redmen, now known as the Fightin’ Blue Hens, feature a balanced inside-outside game with the post pres- ences of Mark ‘*‘The Milkman’’ Mullally, and 6’6”’ shotblocker Scott MacDonald (who loves to dunk). They can also bomb away from the outside with Peter MacKinnon (who can light it up from downtown ina hurry) and Chris Green, the king of dipsy-doo moves.

Teams be aware, the Rabid Dogs are

foaming at the mouth to play you. The Dogs have a dangerous scoring threat in last year’s MVP and team captain Billy McMullin, who never met a shot he couldn’t make. Another former All-star, the versatile Josh Weale, can score from inside or out with tireless enthusiam. Daryll Williams, the self-pro- claimed doctor of shake-and-bake, helps out inside.

The Flyin’ Monkeys may not be able to fly, but they can put points on the board in a hurry. Led by an all-star guard trio of the speedy, trash-talking James Johnson, heady floor general Jeff McEntee, and perimeter deadeye Robbie Stewart, the Monkeys love to run the floor and are definitely not scared of throwing up the three. Expect solid play in the paint from leaper Rene ‘Air’ Wolfe and Robert Parish playalike Rob ‘Fro’ Irwin.

Last year’s B division runners-up Jessie’s Girls have moved up to the A league to try their hand. The sweet shooting duo of Scott Durling and Kris Saunders lead a mix of former Gray/Bluefield players into battle this year. Dale Conroy and Craig Knickle are a pair of ex-Colonels who provide perimeter shooting for the Girls. Watch out for the

Unorthodox gym rat George Anderso won't be singing David Lee Roth tunes as captains his Gigolos this year, but he will firing away with both hands. Kirby Ferguso will be quick to point out Anderson’s music misdeeds while nailing the 15-foot jumper Throw in Quebecker Stephan Blanchard to rut the point, and you have a potentially competi tive team.

B DIVISION

Theenignmatic No Names willbe look ing to make a name for themselves as the appear to be the class of the B league. Bombar' diers Dave Thomson and Jason Martell botli love to shoot the ball from beyond the arc, as does Sean Fitzgerald. Student Union pred Andrew MacPherson will be counted on fot leadership.

Marian Hall throws two teams into the league, with the Spartans and Wolverin (hmm...any Michigan fans out there?) trying (0 gain league superiority. Coached by the wily Joe Sullivan, Marian has plenty of bodies to pu! on the floor including Kristian Turner, la Marche, Brad Wylde, and Steve Ross.

If you aren’t going the right way yo must be going Wong’s Way. Led by scoring sensation Colin Gallant (a former all-star) and slasher Marvin Mill, they hope to go the Wong way to the championship.

The wily veterans are back to defend their championship. Last year’s league cham- pion Old-Timers shall now be referred to 4! Alumni. Big man (6’7") Duncan Shaw will tr to recapture the shape that once made him 4 member of the varsity Panthers. The surgeo! of speed Todd Gaudin and the crafty Gordit MacKay will try to complement the team (an officials) with their outside shooting.

Doug’s Boys are another collection experienced athletes seeking to recapture pas! glory. DavidMacKenzie and Doug MacDonald lead them back from the office tothe court. Th¢ youthful Chris Legge will be making man) deposits in the bank this winter, as he can hil for fificen points a night.

AVC, it’s as easy as one-two-three. Well, maybe not, but at least the AVC can shoo! alot of threes. This bunch of future docs wil! try to operate on the other teams in the leagu¢
