How to properly ventilate a poultry house is the puzzling question low to prevent dampness in a poultry house is inother question of vital importance If we can secure a dry poultry house with plenty of pure air without a direct draught on the inmates, and scrupul ously perform the balance of our work, there is no reason why poultry kept in such a building shonld not be as healthy as those that rove at liberty and sleep on the tree-tops.

They have already consumed several pounds of honey, anu should yon let them die this honey will be a total loss. Don’t be afraid to ex- amine them any day when they can fly, and if such a day does net come soon | would risk it anyway Of course it won't do to lift out the combs or leave

I feed in cakes—one cake—of two or three pounds toeach stand. Place the candy above the bees and on the frames, and cover up warmly with several thick nesses of old carpet or quilts. I feed my bees candy whether they are short of stores or not. My experience is that they do well on candy, andI can feed them cheaper now than later in the spring, should I have to feed them then. I have already heard of several stands thet have starved, in my own neighbor hood, this winter. They did not look after them iu time. Some colonies con sume twice as much honey as others, and these may be the ones that are short of stores. —Ohio Farmer,
