Last Saturday evening Angus (Peter) McDonald, of Little Harbour, hitched up his horse and cart and proceeded to Souris todo some shopping. On the way down he meta friend from East Point, who re- queeted him to call at the station for some paicele that bad come by train. Aftes transac‘ing his own business he went to the station as requested. On leaving there, the night being quite dark, he drove into a deeptrenoch at the head of the street. He was suddeniy throws out upon the frozen ground, one of the wheels of the cart passing over bis bead, while the horse taking fright, sc@mpered off dewn the street Mr. Lauchlin McDonald and Mr. John Joseph Campbe!l were in the cart st the time, but escaped unhnrt. Fire. —Early on Sundav morning the old building known as “Ciements’ Corner,’ ove of the oldest landmarks in Charlotte- town, was destroyed by fire. The cause is unknowa. Mr. Clements’ loss is about $100, with no insurance. The building ; was owned by the estate of the late Wil-, liam Crabbe, and wasnot insured. Mr. Clements is now doing business in the chop on the corner of Weymouth Street, Opposite the residence of Dr. Beer.

Charlottetown Hospital at an early hour on Chrietmes morning. Mr. Kensey was about 55 years of age, and was married to a sister of Rev. Dr. Curran, of St. Dunstan’s College. A widow and family of teu are left to mcurn the loss of a good husband and fond father. The body was yesterday afternoon forwarded to St. Teresa’s for interment.
